Last weekend, we celebrated Lauri and David’s marriage at The Commonwealth Club in Richmond, Virginia. Their traditional ceremony and classic wedding reception was one for the books and their wedding photographer, Sam Stroud was there to capture every moment. Here is one of our favorite pictures of the bride that captures her elegant style beautifully. We cannot wait to share more pictures of Lauri and David’s classic Richmond, VA wedding!
Ronni and Pete’s modern wedding at the Rice House in Richmond, Virginia was one for the books. Not even the threat of a hurricane could stop the beautiful celebration this October! Overlooking the James River, the Rice House is a hidden, mid-century modern architectural landmark – perfect for this couple who met studying architecture at Virginia Tech! To complement the hard line minimalism of the house, we brought in vintage lounge furniture from Paisley & Jade and organic floral arrangements by Amanda Burnette. We particularly love Ronni’s custom made Carol Hannah dress and the peach, mustard and rose blooms!
The concept behind Alison & Caleb’s wedding day was simple – to create a space where family and friends could come from all around world and celebrate together. We helped them dream up the most magical, simple outdoor wedding – full of love, laughter (plus a few happy tears) and creativity!
So many of Alison & Caleb’s wedding details were personalized. They were married overlooking a picturesque lake in the backyard of the groom’s family estate. The beautiful altar arch was created by Alison’s brothers, with the help of the Green Flamingo, using branches, natural foliage and minimal flowers.
One of the elements we loved most about their wedding was the DIY boutonniere bar! This station included a variety of flowers for guests to pin to their attire which represented how the guests knew the bride and groom. The categories for flowers included: Virginia or Hampden-Sydney, Peace Corps, Oregon & U of O, Duke, Bride’s Family, and Groom’s Family. This wedding activity was a direct reflection of Alison and Caleb’s personalities: they are a beautiful, personal, unique, and well-traveled couple. So this was a perfect way for them to incorporate a personal touch as well as get their guests involved.
With spring right around the corner, we have been daydreaming of warmer weather and brighter colors. As an ode to winter though, we are reminiscing about our late winter romance styled shoot with Elisa Bricker Photography and an incredible team of vendors from a few years back. Set outdoors at the historic Berkeley Planation, this shoot exuded enchantment. We chose a beautiful palette of soft pinks and golds that added to the dreaminess of the day.
Jenn of Nature Composed created the most gorgeous and luscious floral arrangements with pops of pink combined with purple and cream hues. We decorated one of our absolute favorite wedding tablescapes with delicate pink and gold rentals from Stonegate Rentals and Classic Party Rentals and the sweetest french macaroons (oh la la!).
We absolutely adore the touches of gold, like the bride’s stunning Monique Lhuillier dress. The skirt looked like the most beautiful gold confetti! On the hazy grey winter day, the sparkling golds woven throughout really added an extra dose of romance and elegance.
Take a sneak peek into spring while remembering the best of winter with this pink and gold wedding inspiration. See the full feature on Snippet & Ink!
Is there a better way to ring in the new year than with a spectacular wedding? We don’t think so! James and Welsy’s New Year’s Eve wedding last year was one for the books!
Welsy is a friend and super talented hair stylist at Elle Style Studio so we were beyond excited to help her plan her big day! Their midnight festivity was romantic, glamorous and so much fun! With the Bolling Haxall House in Richmond, VA as their backdrop, guests were thrust back in time with the house’s art deco designs, vintage furniture, and glittering chandeliers. The couple incorporated their personal styles into the big day – urban glam with a vintage twist. To complement with the 1920′s romantic tone, simple flowers in muted pinks and ivories and candlelight were sprinkled throughout the ceremony and reception.
The endless supply of sparkle, sips of bubbly, and the countdown to midnight catered to the New Year holiday – and it perfectly reflected the couple’s fun nature and high energy.
